The Triceratops
These are some facts of a dinosaur,
in the book called The Enormous Egg. Some physical traits
are the egg is leathery like a turtle egg and as big as a mushmelon.
The dinosaur egg was oval. Dinosaurs are related to birds because
they both lay eggs. Dinosaurs are reptiles and are cold-blooded.
Triceratopses, in particular, have short necks with a shield around their
necks. Dinosaurs have a thick tail and scaly skin. Dinosaurs
had died out 60 million years ago.
A triceratops egg takes 5-6 weeks to hatch.
It takes longer for a dinosaur egg to hatch than a regular egg. The
dinosaur could weigh up to 10 tons and 20 feet, because dinosaurs are growing
all the time. When the triceratops hatched, it weighed 4 and a half
pounds. On August 12th the dinosaur weighed 106 pounds. On
August 13th the dinosaur weighed 121 pounds. On August 14th the dinosaur
weighed 144 pounds. The dinosaur weighed 360 pounds on August 20th.
On September 25th the dinosaur measured 16 feet and weighed 2,627 pounds.
The dinosaur was 6.5 inches on August 20th.
The dinosaur has a very big
appetite and also eats plants. The dinosaur likes to eat grass more
than anything. The dinosaur also eats and lilipads. The dinosaur
kept eating until he ran out of grass. When the dinosaur was a baby
he ate grass and maple leaves.
Sometimes the dinosaur could
get sluggish because when he hears loud noises. He feels sluggish
in the morning. When the dinosaur is a baby he has to learn to eat
like his parents because when he gets older he's going to have to learn
to eat by himself.
