My name is Sandy and I am the
founder of The Big Apple Constellation.
I was thinking of what
symbols or words represented New York. So after a while I decided that
my constellation should be called The Big Apple Constellation.
The name The Big Apple
came along on a warm summer night when I was looking up in the sky and
I saw a pattern of stars formed in something that looked like an over sized
apple.
I discovered this constellation
on this night during the summer. I was walking down the block eating an
apple. Then when I was thinking of what I should call my constellation.
I decided to call it the Big Apple Constellation. The good thing about
this name was that not only did The Big Apple means New York, but I also
like apples.
My constellation is
made up of thirteen stars to resemble The American flag. It resembles the
flag because there are thirteen stripes on the American flag. My constellation
also resembles New York because The Big Apple is another name for New York.
This particular constellation can be seen on the seventh of every month,
because seven is my favorite number.
My constellation is
and was used by ancient people to find their way home. They used in this
way because my constellation contains the North Star. The North Star is
known as the star that never moves, and also it is a very bright star.
Therefore, whenever a person looks at my constellation they will always
see the North Star and if they are lost they can find their way home.
