The Milky Way Constellation
My friends and I had just finished trick-or-treating on Halloween. It was just around midnight and we were hungry, so we ate some of the candy we got. I decided to have a Milky Way candy bar. After I took one bite I saw a big light in the sky. It was so beautiful, and the funny thing was, it was in the shape of a Milky Way candy bar!
I happened to have my camera with me so I took a picture of the constellation. My friends and I were so amazed because we had never seen anything like this before. We wanted to learn more about it, but we couldn’t find anyone who knew about this constellation. Then, I remembered that a scientist lived on my block. So, the next day, I went to his house and showed him the picture that I took.
He said that this constellation was the Milky Way constellation. He continued to say that it only comes out on Halloween because on Halloween, people go trick-or-treating. The Milky Way is a type of candy bar. He said that “ancient people used this constellation to tell when it was Halloween. Also, to tell when if it is fall, and when it was October. He also said that it has 6 stars.
He seemed kind of confused. I asked him if he had a problem. He said that the constellation was missing a part on the side. He said he would call me if he figured out anything. As the week went on I decided to do some research on the constellation. I went to the library and took out 5 books. I couldn’t find anything in the first 4 books though. I had one more book left. Then I found the answer!
It said that the Twins Constellation loved Milky Way candy bars. I ran home and told the scientist. When I told him, he was so surprised! “I can’t believe I didn’t think of that”, he said. I said to him that he didn’t think of it because he didn’t go to the library. He said “Oh, yeah”. He also said that he was very glad that I figured out the problem. Next year on Halloween, after I ate a Milky Way, I looked up in the sky and saw the Milky Way constellation again, and the missing part was in its place.
