I was
on a hiking trip on the Fourth of July when I looked up and there they
were 12 stars shining bright stood out from the rest. It was 7:00 PM sharp
and I got home around 11:30 PM. I looked up at my strange new discovery
and at 12:00 AM, it disappeared.
I looked at my book of constellations, but I
didn’t see it. I wanted to call an observatory, but decided not to. Then,
one year later, on the Fourth of July, I saw it again. I called an observatory.
They said it was a new discovery and told me to give it a name and a story.
I looked at it for hours then they started to
form a shape. Three stars looked like the letter C. Another three looked
like the letter U. The last 6 looked like a top hat. I decided since I
was learning about Lincoln in social studies the middle 6 made me think
of his top hat. The three on the right that looked like a u could stand
for Union. The three on the left could stand for confederacy. I could call
this discovery constellation, Lincoln.
I still kept on thinking
of a story for this constellation. I saw it again the day a president
moved into the White house after the race for president. Then, I thought
of a story. It went like this.
When war parted the nation, Lincoln would pray
every night that the war would end soon. He would often pray with some
injured Union soldiers. Then, a week later, he met some southern injured
soldiers and prayed with them. They all felt that Northern and Southern
fighting must end soon so the North and the South prayed together, like
brothers. God was so pleased that he reserved two very important spots
in the universe for him.
The Lincoln constellation
would show up July 4th and when a president moved into the white house,
or if something great was about to happen to the United States.
