There are many similarities and differences between Matt and Attean's relationship and Crusoe and Friday's relationship. One difference is Crusoe saved Fridays life. Saknis, Atteans grandfather, saved Matts life. Friday became Crusoe's slave but, Attean didn't become Matt's slave. Friday bowed down to Crusoe and Attean said,'' Indian not bow down to white man.''
