I am Dr. Lindsey.
At the hospital I had a patient who had an unusual heart condition called
“heart in your mouth”. This is when your heart moves up and connects to
your cheeks by veins, arteries and capillaries.
You can get
this “heart in your mouth” when you become frightened or paralyzed with
fear.It is caused by the kind of fear you get when your brother runs across
the street and just misses getting hit by a truck or when you’re looking
at a big, scary-looking roller coaster.
You probably
know when someone has the “heart in their mouth” when their heart is beating
fast or they get startled easily. Also, they often scream and shake.
Sometimes a person with this heart condition can’t eat because he keeps
on thinking about the incident.
This condition
can be cured when you relax and your heartbeat starts to slow down or when
you think of something pleasant. This will help because when you relax
or think of something pleasant your veins arteries and capillaries get
loose and your heart will then fall and jump into its place. After
that it reattaches.
