Half Hearted
Hello, I am Dr.
Katie. One morning when I walked into my office my secretary told
me that I had a patient that did not have an appointment, but needed to
be seen quickly. She complained of having a feeling that only half of her
heart was there. I told her that I would take her in, but she would have
to come now if she wants me to see her. When I took x-rays they showed
that she only had the right atrium of her heart. That means that the left
atrium of the heart is moved and somewhere in her body.
A person could
get this condition by having the shelf that holds the left and right atrium
of the heart collapse. This patient's left atrium of her heart had fell
off of the shelf that held the atrium of the heart. This is caused by being
too hyper active.
Some of the symptoms of this condition
is that the person doesn’t really put a lot of effort into things. In fact,
this morning, my secretary told me that when she gave the patient an information
form. She only filled out half of it, just like the half of her heart.
The cure for
this condition is very simple. The best way to deal with this condition
is to simply take x-rays of every part of the patient’s body and find where
the left atrium is. Then, have heart surgery to have the left atrium reconnected
with the right atrium again.
