Robinson Crusoe's relationship with Friday has many differences
from the relationship between Matt and Attean. Crusoe's relationship
with Friday is different from Matt's relationship with Attean because Crusoe,
the whiteman, saved Friday, the Indian, from getting eaten by wild men.
The Indians, Attean and his grandfather Saknis, saved Matt, the whiteman,
from drowning. Friday was Crusoe's slave and they were still friends.
Attean was not Matt's slave and they were still friends. Crusoe the
whiteman taught Friday the Indian the ways of his cultures and other things.
Attean, the Indian taught Matt, the whiteman, the ways of his cultures
and other things.
