My name is Dr.
Christopher. Two weeks ago the strangest thing happened in the emergency
room. A man barged in and first he said something was wrong with his heart.
Then he changed his mind. Then he went back to his original statement.
Right away the rest of the doctors and I knew he had A Change of Heart!
A change
of heart is when your heart gets switched with another heart and that changes
your thought. I went right into the x-ray room and took a picture. What
I saw was unbelievable! I saw two hearts. One heart had blood coming in
from a major vein. The other heart had weak ventricles and atriums. Then
I knew which one was the real heart. After I looked at the x-rays, I held
my hand to his chest. There was no heartbeat? Then there was a heartbeat.
Later I found out that there was a heartbeat, just not in the heart area.
(There were two heartbeats actually) We decided once and for all that would
need an operation. “Tomorrow at 10:00 A.M.” I had told him. The doctors
and I even stuck a note to his hand so he wouldn’t change his mind and
think it’s at 11o’clock instead of 10.
That night
I thought about how I would perform this operation. “First I will put him
to sleep.” I had thought to myself. Then I’d put the real heart in place.
Next I would connect the vein and the arteries to that heart. After that
I would take the bad heart out and make his heart’s ventricles and atriums
stronger. He will then be back to his old self again. But his capillaries
might have some locks on them.
The next morning,
at 10 o’clock sharp, we started the operation. (He was there thankfully)
We did exactly what I said the night before.
At about 2:00 P.M.
he woke up and he was fine. He acted like nothing had happened. He thanked
the doctors and I and said goodbye. I think that was the best operation
I have ever done.
